  1. I knew Sr. Lorreine as my big sister since she was always there for me. I like to thank for the bottom of our hearths for all the kind words expressed by all that new her. I am helping mom write these words now, it took a little while to compose. We always love you, you will always be my “ favorite aunt”. You are now up in Heaven with all our loved ones looking down……

  2. Message from Joseph McDermott, Prince William County, Virginia, honored to be Sister Lorraine’s first cousin once removed: My maternal grandfather, Hugh A. McLaughlin (1883-1940), and Sister Lorraine’s mother, Rena McLaughlin Zappala (1895-1972), were brother and sister, meaning that my mother (1918-1981), Sister Lorraine and Sister Mary Patrick (1924-1990) were all first cousins. The Sisters of Divine Providence have always held a cherished place in our family, and now we have a new advocate interceding for us McLaughlins before the Heavenly Throne.

  5. Sister Lorraine was my father’s cousin. Growing up I knew her as Sister Mary Kevin. She was caring, loving and upbeat. She greeted us warmly on our all too infrequent visits entertaining us with stories from her teaching years. Calls to update her on family situations were met with a calm even keeled demeanor and words of reassurance. I will miss talking to her.

My condolences to her sister Cathy, who will miss Lorraine immensely.

    May she rest in peace.

  7. I didn’t know Sr. Lorraine well, but any time I met her she had a welcome smile and warm greetings. At my last visit to the Commons I had an opportunity to speak with her and she told me how wonderful everyone there had been to her since she moved there from Kingston. She said, “It’s all grace and blessing.” May she rest in peace.
