Lent

We welcome your participation with our interactive blog and encourage you to Leave a Comment to share your thoughts or reflections.

Our Lenten reflection draws from a number of sources: the marginalia of the St. John’s Bible, the encyclical letter Laudito Si (May 2015 on “Care for our Common Home”) and Pope Francis’s, Dare to Dream (2020).

Each of these sources invites us to visit the periphery, “the margins,” as the particular and privileged location of God’s providential activity and presence. It is here, in what seems like emptiness, that Providence is revealed as the God of possibilities.

Cuaresma

  1. Reading this reflection about intergenerational solidarity made me remember something Sr. Nancy Sylvester said in her presentation at the Providence Event on Feb. 20, 2021. In the part about Kosmocentric Consciousness she told us that it is emerging and identifies with all life–wholeness, paradox, ambiguity, both/and and that when we can appreciate the wisdom and values of the previous stages we can seek a new way forward to achieve a common goal…that the future is calling us to widen our worldview. It just makes me think how all of creation is emerging in these same stages so that everything and everyone matters. A challenge for sure!
