AdventThank you for visiting the Sisters of Divine Providence blog. We are eager to share Advent with you using a new interactive format.

Advent is a cherished liturgical season. It is a time of anticipation, of hope, of promise. This year, perhaps more than ever, we long for God’s Providential Presence.

Thanks to an initiative at La Roche College we have been gifted with the opportunity to pray with the illuminations of the St. John’s Bible. We have been nourished by a prayer method known as Visio Divina, which invites us to reflect and pray with images as well as with Sacred Text.

For each week of the Advent season through Christmas, we will focus on one of the illuminations. A suggested reflection, writing, and sharing will be offered for each day of the week.

We hope you will join with the Sisters, our Associates, and all of our partners in Mission, as we join our voices in prayer. We also encourage you to share this blog with family and friends.

Our first illumination will be available on December 2, 2018.
